1759: British army captures Quebec over the French.
Also known as the battle for the Plains of Abraham was a war for the territory of Quebec between the British and the French. The battle started September 13th 1759, with 10,000 soldiers on each side. This battle forever changed the fate of Quebec even in today’s society. Today we still have language problems, referendums, and racism on both sides because of the disputes 254 years ago, even our license plates today commemorate the war centuries ago.
1776: declaration of American independence
On July 4th, 13 colonies became independent and free of the British Empire, and formed the United States of America. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were the biggest players in the mission to declare independence. The vote took place on July 2nd and was unanimous and just over a year later began the American revolutionary war.

This picture of my shows off my very high status. My massive hat is fitting for the time. Everyone with money wore large hats, there were even sumptuary laws put in place allowing the size of your hat to have a limit if you weren't wealthy. Her dress has lace on the sleeves, and in the 1700’s lace was a very exclusive pattern and technique used on garments
